Great news for men and women who want to get rid of unwanted hair! Bikini lines, facial, back, neck, underarm, leg or any hair!
Temporary methods of waxing, shaving, and depilatory creams are well known for hair removal. Electrolysis is the traditional tried and tested method of permanent hair removal, but it is time-consuming and inefficient.
Today, using lasers to reduce unwanted hair is the most popular and efficient method used. Lasers have been designed to damage and destroy many hairs in a short time, with little chance of complications, and its effects are permanent in most patients. Laser hair removal is now gentle, non-invasive and lasting.
How does laser hair reduction work?
We use an infrared laser that treats many hairs at once, making treatment of large areas practical. Lasers target melanin pigment by emitting a specific light beam that is selectively absorbed by the hair follicle's pigment. The absorbed light heats the hair structures, which damages the existing hair and destroys the follicles and disrupts their ability to regenerate - all without damaging the surrounding tissues. The laser light energy eradicates hundreds of hair follicles in seconds. Our ClearScan Laser employs a unique computer guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring that your skin is rapidly and evenly treated.
What skin types and body areas can be treated?
All skin types (I-VI) can be treated. ClearScan is very effective for lighter skin types, is the best choice for darker skin types and has the ability to safely treat sun-tanned skin. Laser hair reduction can be used on all parts of the body including but not limited to face, neck, underarms, back, bikini lines, legs and arms.
Does the treatment hurt?
During the procedure, you may sense a "prickly" feeling around the area, or like a light snapping of a rubber band against the skin. With the sapphire-cooling tip of the ClearScan Laser, treatments are very well tolerated and there is minimal discomfort if any.
What should I expect after the treatment?
After the treatment, the area may feel like a sunburn and there may be a small amount of swelling. Each patient's level of skin sensitivity and pain threshhold is different. Some redness may remain for approximately 5-7 days. A sunscreen of at least SPF 15 should be used when outdoors.
How many treatments are needed?
Lasers are only effective for targeting hair that is in the growth phase and since there are three phases in the hair cycle, this means that more than one session is usually required in order to get all the hairs. An average of 3-5 treatments is usually required for most clients.
